Emergency PPKM: Police to Shut Jakarta's Entry, Exit Points as of 12 AM

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Police Chief Insp. Gen. Fadil Imran said the police would apply the emergency public activity restrictions (Emergency PPKM) beginning Saturday, July 3, 2021. He added all entry and exit points to and from Jakarta would be shut beginning 12 a.m. today.

“Beginning midnight at 12 a.m., all points of entry and exit of Jakarta will be closed and we will run tight inspection,” he said at the Jakarta Police headquarters in South Jakarta, Friday, July 2, 2021.

Fadil said the police would bar people from conducting outdoor activities following the imposition of the policy. People are only allowed outside of their home for emergency and essential purposes.

Fadil said the Jakarta Police would deploy their personnel to enforce the restrictions. “Besides the formation of a task force, there will also be mobility control and restrictions at 35 checkpoints and mobility insulation and restrictions at 25 checkpoints within the jurisdiction of the Jakarta Police,” he said.

The Jakarta Police carry out today their COVID-19 mitigation operation dubbed the “Aman Nusa II Penanganan COVID-19” as part of their preparations to safeguard the government’s Emergency PPKM that will kick off tomorrow.
