Lemhanas Celebrates 56th Anniversary Amidst Challenging Pandemic

20 May 2021 23:13 WIB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Resilience Institute (Lemhanas) commemorates its 56th anniversary event by reflecting on the socio-economy effect of the Covid-19 pandemic that hit Indonesia for the past year with at least 1,740,000 recorded cases up until May this year.

This condition has forced the government to continue imposing a large-scale social restriction (PSBB) and micro-scale public mobility restriction (PPKM) in a number of provinces.

During the celebration of Indonesia's national awakening day, Lemhanas governor offered uplifting words for the public.

"Grounded by the spirit of the national awakening day, Lemhanas through its role and function intends to regenerate the spirit of unity upon fighting the Covid-19 virus," said Lemhanas governor retired military general Agus Widjojo during the institute’s anniversary on Thursday, May 20, 2021.

He also urged the public to support the government's attempts to continue improving Indonesia's national welfare and security.
