TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) prosecutors on Monday charged former president director of state-owned aircraft manufacturer PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI), Budi Santoso, with corruption worth Rp2,009,722,500 from a fictitious business contract deal.

According to the KPK, the fictitious deal mentioned the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), the Defense Ministry, the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT), the Air Police, the Army's Aviation Center, and the State Secretariat.

“The collective act committed by the defendant is an abuse of authority,” said KPK prosecutor Ariawan Agustiartono on Monday, November 2.

The KPK has also indicted former PTDI sales chief Irzal Rinaldi Zailani with corruption of over Rp13 billion from the same graft contract, in which Irzal was involved from 2008 to 2016. Due to the fictitious contract, prosecutors claimed that Budi and Irzal had made the country lose US$8,650,945.27 in total.
