Kompas Founder Jakob Oetama Passes Away at 88

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The founder of one of Indonesia mainstream media Kompas Gramedia, Jakob Oetama, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at 13:05 in Mitra Keluarga Hospital in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta. He died at the age of 88.

Wisnu Nugroho, the Kompas.com editor in chief, said Jakob's body would be taken to Kompas Gramedia building in Palmerah, Central Jakarta.

Jakob will be buried at the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery in South Jakarta on Thursday, September 10.
