TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan pinned hope many regions could adopt the city’s measures in containing the COVID-19 pandemic, including carrying out 3T or Testing, Tracing, and Treatment, as well as encouraging 3M or wear face masks, wash hands, and maintain distance.
“So far the measures run smoothly. Hopefully, 3M and 3T can be implemented in various regions to combat COVID-19,” said Anies when welcoming the Army Chief of Staff Gen. Andika Perkasa and the Police Deputy Chief Comr. Gen. Gatot Eddy in the City Hall today, August 18.
Andika and Gatot reportedly met with the former education and culture minister in order to collect information regarding the city’s efforts in mitigating the pandemic and recovering the economy.
Anies welcomed their visits, saying it was a form of the central government’s support for the city and also to share experience in handling virus transmission.
“Hopefully we can continue this good partnership in the future,” said the governor.
The Army Chief of Staff, meanwhile, said the meeting was aimed at reviewing the region’s efforts in dealing with COVID-19 pandemic and helping the national economic recovery. Before Jakarta, he claimed to have met the Central Java Governor. “We want to gain updates about COVID-19 mitigation and regional economic recovery.”
According to Andika, Anies Baswedan as a governor who had handled the pandemic since the beginning could have a better comprehension of the matter. “This is input for us.”
