National Police Claim April-May Crime Rate had Dropped

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian National Police (Polri) on Tuesday claimed the crime rate throughout May this year had dropped 7.9 percent compared to April.
“There were 15,395 cases in April and 14,179 cases in May,” said National Police spokesperson Brig. Gen. Awi Setiyono on Tuesday, June 9.
According to Awi Setiyono, the drop in crime rate happened across all types of criminal activities, starting from conventional crime, transnational, crimes against state wealth, up to crimes against state wealth with contingency implications.
Polri also claims that the crime rate throughout March - April had dropped 19.90 percent. He also assured that the national police together with the National Armed Forces (TNI) and other stakeholders will continue to be present among members of the public to suppress Indonesia’s crime rate.
