COVID-19 Update: Recovery Cases Outweigh the Death Toll

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The number of coronavirus (COVID-19) recoveries has increased to 3,287 cases with the additional 224 recoveries as of Wednesday, May 13. This number is three times the death rate caused by the pandemic that initially sparked in China’s Province of Wuhan earlier this year.
The COVID-19 task force spokesperson Achmad Yurianto announced today that the casualties caused by the novel coronavirus were 21 more deaths on Wednesday, totaling the number to 1,028 cases.
In general, confirmed COVID-19 cases in Indonesia has grown to a total of 15,438 cases as per today. Yurianto also stated that there are 33,042 patients under the government’s monitoring, with 256,299 people under monitoring based on contact tracing.
There are currently 379 regencies and cities in Indonesia affected by COVID-19.
The task force claims that the government had already obtained 169,195 specimens from 123,572 people which resulted in 15,438 people confirmed to be positive for coronavirus while 108,134 were determined to be uninfected.
