36 Deceased, South Tangerang Sets up COVID-19 Monitoring Centers

TEMPO.CO, South Tangerang - The South Tangerang Regional Government is currently preparing a number of COVID-19 Monitoring Centers, to curb the COVID-19 outbreak in South Tangerang.
South Tangerang Mayor, Benyamin Davnie, explained that the COVID-19 monitoring centers will be utilized for People under Monitoring (ODP) to stay at. Aside from allowing the medical personnel easier access to monitor, the COVID-19 monitoring centers aim to decrease the possibility of COVID-19 transmission to vulnerable groups.
“We are preparing a number of locations (for the COVID-19 monitoring centers), including one at the integrated farming area next to the Ciater Reservoir. The COVID-19 Monitoring Center will be used to house about 100 people. There will also be one in the Serua Ciputat area, as well as one in the new MUI Building in Pamulang,” stated Benyamin.
Previously, the South Tangerang COVID-19 Task Force noted the number of ODP cases have reached 450, and the number of Patients under Surveillance (PDP) cases have reached 185, as of Monday, April 6, 2020.
"In terms of ODP cases, there are 434 people who are still being monitored, while 16 others have recovered," said the South Tangerang COVID-19 Task Force spokesperson, Tulus Muladiono, on Monday 6 April 2020.
According to Tulus, the number of PDP cases currently being treated at national referral hospitals is 160 people, with 25 deceased.
"In terms of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases, two people recovered, while 43 others are still being treated, 11 COVID-19 positive deceased, so that totals to 36 COVID-19 deaths in South Tangerang,” Tulus added.
