TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Mass Rapid Transit, also known as the Jakarta MRT, has returned train operation hours normally as before, while still enforcing social distancing to prevent coronavirus disease (COVID-19) transmission.
Chief of the Jakarta MRT Corporate Secretary Division, Muhammad Kamaluddin, stated that the train will be available at 05:00-24:00 WIB (local time), starting today.
"The operational hours during the working day will resume at 05:00-24:00 WIB," Kamaluddin said in his written statement on Monday night, March 16, 2020.
Continuing on, Kamaluddin said that the Jakarta MRT would operate 16 train lines. The departure distance between trains, also known as the headway, returns to five minutes during rush hours, namely 07:00-09:00 and 17:00-19:00 local time.
“And (the headway) is 10 minutes outside of rush hours,” he added.
Yesterday, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan decided to revert the Jakarta MRT headway, which had been previously reduced to prevent coronavirus disease (COVID-19) transmission, to normal.
However, the number of passengers in Transjakarta buses, the MRT and LRT will still be limited according to the recommendations of social distancing, or keeping a minimum distance of 1 meter.
