TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) postponed its anniversary celebration scheduled this March, related to the Coronavirus transmission.
PT MRT Jakarta Corporate Secretary Division Head, Muhammad Kamaluddin, said that his party had rescheduled the MRT Fest and MRT Run events to anticipate the transmission of the COVID-19.
"Along with increasing awareness of the risk of transmission of COVID-19, PT MRT Jakarta rescheduled the activities of the one-year commemoration of the operation of the Jakarta MRT, MRT Fest and MRT Run," Kamaluddin said in his written statement, Wednesday night, March 11, 2020.
The two events are planned to be held at the Plaza and Parking Lot of Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta on Saturday, March 21, 2020. Kamaluddin said that MRT Run 2020 participants who have registered can ask for a refund.
The refund process, he continued, took 14 working days after PT MRT received the participant's data. Kamaluddin apologized for the inconvenience of the rescheduling. Information about MRT Fest and MRT Run will be uploaded on PT MRT social media and the mrtfest.com site.
"PT MRT Jakarta always follows government regulations and recommendations regarding prevention to the spread of Covid-19," he said.
The number of Coronavirus positive patients in Indonesia continues to increase. Until Thursday morning, March 12, 2020, the central government announced 34 positive Corona patients and one patient died. Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan then banned the activities that gathered many people, the Formula E racing event in Jakarta was also postponed.
