TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Dr. Haryoto General Hospital (RSUD Dr. Haryoto) in the Lumajang Regency on Thursday is reportedly treating a patient who was admitted after suffering an illness that is feared to be the coronavirus. The patient is said to have returned home from China and is experiencing fever, coughing, and trouble breathing.
“We are monitoring the patient’s condition after [the person] returned home from a coronavirus-stricken country,” said the regency’s Health Agency, Bayu Wibowo, to Tempo on Thursday, March 12.
The hospital’s coronavirus mitigation team had already tested the patient’s body temperature, blood pressure, up to conducting an x-ray on the person’s lungs. The patient is currently in an isolation facility.
The hospital’s director, Halimi Maksum, said the team had not conducted a swab test as the patient’s symptoms did not lead to a possible coronavirus (COVID-19) infection. This case has also been reported to the East Java Health Agency.
The patient also did not show signs of pneumonia and was eventually determined to be caused by asthma before being released from the hospital today.
