TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said the city administration had designed an operational standard to prevent the coronavirus from spreading on public transportation.
Anies said the capital’s Transportation Agency had coordinated with a number of mass transportation operators, such as Transjakarta and MRT Jakarta.
“We have also talked to the Transportation Ministry, MRT to take measures related to the safety of our public facilities,” he said at the City Hall on Monday, March 2, 2020.
Anies said public transport operators were presently working on the operational standard to prevent the virus from spreading further. He added the city administration would later convey a scenario to keep the virus from spreading on city-owned public transportation. “Everything has been prepared, we will announce it later,” he said.
Anies said his administration had also formed a special team dubbed the COVID-19 Response Team to tackle the coronavirus. The Jakarta government has also set up posts at the Jakarta Health Agency office to receive reports pertaining to the virus.
