TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Soekarno-Hatta airport train is now equipped with porter services to help passengers with their luggage. The acting managing director of the train operator PT Railink, Mukti Jauhari, said the service would be provided for free in the first three months.
"We will then evaluate the services later," Mukti said in a statement in Jakarta, Friday, January 30.
According to Mukti, the services are part of the new train services dubbed City Check-In and Baggage Handling recently launched by Railink. “We hope these services will bring convenience and satisfaction to Railink customers.”
The porter services, he added, would be available in three spots, viz. BNI City Station, Soekarno-Hatta Airport Station and Terminal. The counters of City Check-In and Baggage Handling will also be opened at BNI City Station from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Passengers willing to experience the services should only show their purchased airport train tickets, flight tickets, and ID Cards.
However, the new services are presently only available to domestic passengers of Garuda Indonesia and Citilink airlines. PT Railink also operates shuttle buses at Soekarno-Hatta Airport Station towards the departure terminal of Citilink (Terminal 2) and Garuda Indonesia (Terminal 3), as an alternative to the elevated airport train.
"We hope other airline passengers can also enjoy these services in the future," Mukti concluded.
