5-Story Alfamart Minimarket Building in Slipi Collapses

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A five-story minimarket building located on Jalan Brigjen Katamso, Slipi, West Jakarta collapsed on Monday, January 6. The incident was reported by a Twitter account @YassirDepp.
“Alfamart [minimarket building] on Jln Brigjen Katamso Slipi collapse,” @YassirDepp tweeted.
West Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency head Eko Sumarno confirmed the incident. Eko said in a statement that the building collapsed at 9:20 a.m.
“We have dispatched 3 teams,” Eko said.
Jakarta Metro Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Yusri Yunus confirmed the minimart building located across Wisma 77, Palmerah fell down. “Yes, police officers and Palmerah Resort Police are heading to the site for inspection,” said Yusri via a phone call on Monday.
Yusri ensured no casualty from the incident, yet three people were injured. The police are examining the crime scene to find out the cause of the collapse. “The material loss is still being calculated,” he added.
