TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The city provincial government has specially stationed six Transjakarta buses that will be ready to transport congregates, free of charge, to Jakarta’s Cathedral Church’s Christmas mass from the nearby Monas parking lot.
Head of PT Transportasi public relations and corporate secretary Nadia Diposanjoyo said the fleets prepared are Metrotrans buses that can accommodate up to 60 people who opt to park their vehicles at the IRTI Monas, which is located across the national library headquarters.
“The Metrotrans buses will transport people between the Cathedral Church and the IRTI Monas parking lot,” said Nadia in a written statement on Tuesday.
The Metrotrans bus fleets were chosen for its low entry design and are disabled-friendly which will ease families accompanying their elders from the parking lot to the Church. The Transjakarta fleets will start operating today and up to Christmas day from 15:00-24:00 (December 24) and 05:00-12:00 (December 25).
Nadia further hopes that the Transjakarta fleet will further ease people’s access to celebrate Christmas without worrying about parking issues.
