Revised Law Taking Effect; KPK Employees Set to Resign

27 November 2019 18:07 WIB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Agus Rahardjo, revealed that three of the anti-corruption watchdog employees are ready to resign due to their refusal upon being promoted to civil servant status or ASN as the revised KPK Law mandated.

“Three have submitted their resignation. The rest are still waiting,” said Agus Rahardjo in the institution’s meeting with the House of Representatives' (DPR) Law Commission in Jakarta today, Nov. 27.

The anti-graft agency has formed two transition teams after the KPK Law revision was issued. The teams are responsible to oversee the employment status of its investigators up to prevention admins.

Based on the transition teams’ reports, Agus said that his office is attempting to independently take over control management of who they recruit.

“If this sense of independence can be guaranteed, I'm sure not many of our employees would resign,” said the chairman.
