TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The massive waves of information in this digital age introduces us to numerous challenges that were not seen before in terms of technology upon obtaining, sharing, and editing information from the internet. This further asserts the need to elevate one’s digital literacy.
One of the ways to overcome this problem of adaptation is by introducing programs where stakeholders serve and educate the public such as the National Movement Digital Literacy Cybercreation that encourages Indonesian internet citizens (netizen) to use the platform responsibly.
The movement is formed by multi-stakeholders consisting of members from the State Ministry, academics, and communities, mass media, and the private sector.
“Digital literacy is greatly critical to improving people’s knowledge that is yet mature. Everything moves quickly in this digital era, added with the difficulties in [suppressing information],” said Communication and Informatics Minister Rudiantara.
Rudiantara openly supports the steps taken by Siberkreasi upon spreading digital literacy and making it into a positive activity that could enlighten people in using the internet responsibly.
