Lack of Passengers, Two Flights to Aceh Cancelled During Election

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Two national air carriers Lion Air and Garuda Indonesia initially serving flights from Banda Aceh – Jakarta and Banda Aceh – Medan canceled their flight routes because of the lack of passengers during the Election Day yesterday.
“The canceled Aceh-Jakarta and Medan-Aceh flights by Garuda Indonesia and Lion Air probably took place after their seats were filled below 30 percent,” said Sultan Iskandar Muda Blang Bintang PT Angkasa Pura II on Wednesday, April 17.

Meanwhile, Citilink and carriers serving overseas flights continue to operate.
“The service at the International Sultan Iskandar Muda (SIM) Blang Bintang Aceh Airport continued as normal during yesterday’s election,” he said.
