Police to Secure 1,904 Points during 2019 New Year Celebration

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The national police headquarters note that there are 1,904 vital points that will be the center of 2019 new year celebration throughout Indonesia. Some of those areas are at Ancol Dreamland, Hotel Indonesia Roundabout (Bundaran HI), and Monas, in Jakarta.
“Those places will be our focus of security,” said national police headquarters spokesperson Brig. Gen. Dedi Prasetyo on Monday, December 31.
The national police will also oversee the traffic lanes and worship houses. Moreover, said Dedi, on the New Year's Eve, there will be worship activities by Christians.
The Police’s Anti-terrorism squad Densus 88 together with the Anti-terrorism Task Force also anticipate threats of terrorist acts that can disrupt security and public order during the 2019 New Year celebration.
The national police have deployed more than 94,000 personnel to secure the 2019 New Year celebration throughout Indonesia. There will be a total of 168,000 security personnel if combined with the TNI (Indonesian military).
