Post Tsunami; Anyer-Tanjung Lesung Tourism Route Back to Normal

TEMPO.CO, Pandeglang - Tourism routes along Anyer Beach until Tanjung Lesung gradually return to normal after the Sunda Strait tsunami struck the coastal areas of Banten and Lampung, Saturday, December 22. The roads either from Cilegon or Pandeglang direction that previously closed post the quake was now opened.
“It backs to normal. No more disaster debris lies in the road,” said Tourism Crisis Center (TCC) team head Guntur Sakti in Pandeglang, Banten province, Tuesday, December 25. Guntur said the measure was carried out by a joint team of Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI), National Police, National SAR team, and related institutions.
As noted in the release of Tourism Ministry received by Tempo, Wednesday, December 26, TCC team said the people who have buildings affected by the disaster along Anyer Beach up to Tanjung Lesung joined the cleaning effort.
Guntur further mentioned amenities in Pandeglang District were mostly affected by Sunda Strait tsunami. A total of 69 hotels/villas and 60 restaurants/tenants were destroyed. Tourism public facilities along the route were also under the rehabilitation program. Meanwhile, the electricity and telecommunication network was getting better.
