TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Mass Rapid Transit or MRT Jakarta continuously conducts series of trial runs as preparation of its commercial operations which is expected to start in March 2019. PT MRT corporate secretary Tubagus Hikmatullah said the test is one of the company’s attempts to provide excellent quality service for the public.

“In line with the construction development that reaches 97.52 percent completion at the end of last November, MRT Jakarta will hold the Testing & Commissioning and Trial Run. We will also invite the public to join the test,” said Tubagus in a press release, Tuesday, December 25.

Tubagus explained the Testing and Commissioning phase has started since August 2018 and will last in February 2019. Contractors of MRT Jakarta monitor and check the system during this period.

MRT Jakarta also invited several related stakeholders to witness the trial run, including President Joko Widodo, Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, and mass media reporters.

Tubagus continued explaining that the phase of Parallel Trial Run will be held starting December’s end until February 2019, in which the test will be conducted in parallel with the Testing and Commissioning test.

In this stage, several related stakeholders that have direct involvement, impact, or influence in the construction project based on the list owned by the company will be asked to join the trial run.

The last phase will be a Full Trial Run which will be commenced in the middle of February 2019 until the commercial operation in March 2019. The trial run will be fully operated by MRT Jakarta.
