TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Greater Area (Jabodetabek) Transportation Agency (BPTJ) stated the Odd-Even License Plate Policy in several toll gates in Cikampek, Jagorawi and Tangerang will be omitted during Eid holiday.

Head of BPTJ's Public Relation Budi Rahardjo said it is in accordance with the three regulations on handling congestion in Jabodetabek. In the regulation, it states the Odd-Even Policy is omitted during holidays. “It does not apply during the Eid holidays too,” Budi said on Wednesday, May 30.

According to Budi, Eid holidays start from June 11 and ends on June 20. He further mentioned the Odd-Even Policy that is considered to be revoked by the people. In fact, the restriction through license numbers is applied only on the weekdays at 6 a.m to 9 a.m at the toll gates in West Bekasi and East Jakarta.

In addition, the regulation is just being tested recently on the toll gates in Tangerang 2 and Kunciran 2 to Jakarta and Cibubur toll gates to Jakarta.

BPTJ will apply the Odd-Even Policy on the eight streets of Jakarta to support Asian Games 2018 that starts on August 18.

In the early stage, BPTJ will conduct intensive socialization for Odd-Even License Plate Policy. The data taken from Bisnis said there are additional roads that have been on restrictions based on odd-even numbers. The streets mentioned are S Parman, Gatot Subroto, MT Haryono, DI Panjaitan, Benyamin Sueb, Rasuna Said and Pondok Indah Artery.
