Jokowi Extends Condolences Over Fidel Castro`s Death

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko `Jokowi` Widodo on Sunday (27/11) extended his condolences over the death of former Cuban President Fidel Castro.

Castro died on Saturday at the age of 90.

"I would like to express my deepest condolences to the government and people of Cuba over the death of Fidel Castro, former President of Cuba," Jokowi said on Sunday at Sentul International Convention Center, Bogor, West Java.

Previously, Vice President Jusuf Kalla also extended his condolences over the death of the Cuban Revolution leader.

Kalla also hailed Castro as Indonesia’s good friend during the era of former President Sukarno, for example when Castro supported the Non-Aligned Movement. Kalla also said that Castro was a great fighter for his country.

Castro died after a prolonged disease and he led Cube for more than a half century.
