TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-The Government plans to revise negative investments list (DNI) in the sector of film business in production, distribution and exhibition to be included in economic policy package.
However, not all of film industry players agree on investment leniency in film sector. According to the Head of Creative Economy Agency Triawan Munaf, there’s one film industry player who is rejecting the DNI revision plan.
“There’s only one association who is against it, it's APFI (Association of Indonesian Film Company),” said Triawan on Monday, February 8, 2016.
According to Triawan, APFI is a four-month old film association. The association consists of eight film companies. Triawan declined to reveal the reason behind APFI’s rejection on the DNI revision.
There are 10 film associations who support the policy of DNI revision and they are giving their collective support to President Joko Widodo to sign DNI’s preamble immediately. According to them, DNI revision in film business would not only provide access to capital and increase screen number, but also improvement in competence standard and capacity of national creative film workers.
They would convey Indonesian Film Creative Workers Collective Statement at a press conference to be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, at Function Room Center of Haji Usmar Ismail Film Center at Jalan HR Rasuna Said, Karet, Kuningan, Jakarta.
