TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Google is targeting to make 2 million Indonesian medium-small business go online by the end of 2017. Google data shows that only 550,000 business in Indonesia are currently connected to the Internet.
“By going online, the business will be easier to see and known,” said Head of Small Medium Business Marketing of Google Indonesia, Mira Sumanti in Jakarta on Thursday, May 7.
Mira said that by information that results from search engine will help building business’ reputation.
To support online business in Indonesia, Google introduces Google Bisnisku. The service enables business practitioners to show detailed information about their business. Integration to Google search engine, Google Maps, and Google+ in Bisnisku is available for free.
Using Google Bisnisku, customers will find more information in an easier way, while the business owner will be able to see statistics of the business’ interaction with customers. For example, owner will know how many people visit the profile of your restaurant.
A Jakarta-based organic restaurant, Burgreens have used the application for the last one year.
“Turns out that 80 percent of people who came here had found the location from Google Maps,” said Burgreens founder, Helga Angelina.
