Malaysian Police Arrest 2 Indonesian Police for Carrying Drugs

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Malaysian police have arrested two Indonesian police at Kuching airport for carrying six kilograms of drugs yesterday.
The two Indonesian police are Adj. Sr. Comr. Idha Endi Prasetyono and Brigadier Harahap.
According to the law in Malaysia, both Idha and Harahap will face a death sentence. Article 39B of the Malaysian Anti-drug Law stipulates that anyone carrying drugs carries a death penalty by hanging.
"The case of Idha Endi will be explained by West Kalimantan Police Chief after his visit from Sambas," said Comr. Sr. Suhadi S.W earlier today.
A source from the West Kalimantan police said that both Idha and Harahap obtained no permit to make an overseas trip.
Before being dismissed from the positions due to this case, Idha was Head of the West Kalimantan Anti-drug Sub-Directorate, while Harahap was an investigator at the same directorate.
The same source also said that their arrest began from the arrest of their partners in Kuala Lumpur Airport. The information also indicated the involvement of Idha and Harahap.
The same source also said Deputy Chairman of West Kalimantan Police Sr. Comr. Hasanuddin has flown to Malaysian to follow-up this case.
