TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Ahead of the new year, Indonesia-China High-speed railway company KCIC recorded Whoosh high-speed rail had transported 20,000 passengers in 384 trips. The hike was seen from the booking of 16,500 tickets for the departure on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023. The number was predicted to increase more tonight.
In a written statement, KCIC General Manager Corporate Secretary, Eva Chairunisa, said that since the beginning of the Christmas and New Year holidays season on December 22, Whoosh had served 156,000 passengers. The favored routes include the Halim-Padalarang roundtrip, followed by the Halim-Tegalluar roundtrip. The passengers also tended to choose morning departure at 07:00-10:00 and afternoon, until night schedule.
In anticipation of the public’s high interest in traveling on the high-speed train, KCIC added the trip by 20 percent from 40 trips per day to 48 trips per day. The additional trips will be available until January 2, 2024.
To ensure a smooth operation, KCIC continues to coordinate with related stakeholders including state electricity company PLN as the power supplier, KAI as feeder train operator, and telecommunication providers.
