TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Corruption Eradication Commission or KPK spokesperson Ali Fikri confirmed that the former Vice Minister of Law and Human Rights Edward Omar Sharif Hiariej or Eddy Hiariej failed to fulfill KPK's summon today.
"That's true [he did not come], the information we received was that he fell sick," Ali confirmed to Tempo on Thursday, Dec. 7.
According to Ali, KPK would reschedule the questioning session for Eddy Hiariej, but the spokesperson did not go into further detail.
"We will reschedule and we will get back to inform the next summon," he said.
Eddy Hiariej failed to fulfill KPK's summon today. His attorney, Ricky Sitohang mentioned that his client canceled the schedule over a sudden sickness.
"He did not deliberately skip [the summon], we planned to come in the morning but [Eddy Hiariej] fell sick. So, we requested a reschedule to KPK," Ricky told Tempo today.
Ricky also did not go into further detail on what date Eddy requested the rescheduled probing.
Eddy Hiariej, suspected to be involved in a gratification and bribery case, submitted a resignation letter to President Joko Widodo on Wednesday.
