TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Joko Widodo or Jokowi today, Nov. 4, sent off the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. It was a collective aid from the Indonesian Government, Indonesian Military (TNI), Indonesian Police, Indonesian Red Cross, National Zakat Body (Baznas), Zakat Forum, and the people of Indonesia for the Palestinian victims of war-torn Gaza.
The aid, weighing a total of 51.5 tons, comprises water purifiers and medical kits, which will be sent in two batches.
In the press conference, Jokowi explained that the things that were sent were based on the needs of the Palestinians in Gaza. "For example the water purifier, as it is hard for them (to get drinking water)," he said at the Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport, Jakarta.
