TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecasted that rains to shower the majority of Indonesian regions today, November 3.

"Generally, Sumatra will be greeted by some drizzles, except in South Sumatra, Jambi, West Sumatra, Riau, and North Sumatra with some medium rain potential. Aceh is forecasted for a heavy rain," according to BMKG's data.

In general, Java Island will also experience some light rain, while East Java, Central Java, and West Java will have some medium rain. Partly cloudy skies will cover Bali, NTT, and NTB.

South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, West Kalimantan, and North Kalimantan are also forecasted for some medium rain. Medium rain will also potentially fall on South Sulawesi, Northeast Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, and Gorontalo. Meanwhile, Central Sulawesi is forecasted for heavy rain.

According to BMKG, Maluku and North Maluku are due for medium intensity rain while Papua and West Papua will have heavy rain pour over the regions.

The air temperature in Indonesia ranges from 20 to 36 degrees Celsius with air humidity levels from 40 to 100 percent.

The wind pattern in northern Indonesia generally moves from southwest to northwest in 4 to 15 knots velocity, while in southern Indonesia, the wind moves from the east to northeast in 8 to 20 knots velocity. The strongest wind velocity was recorded south of Sunda Strait, south of Makassar Strait, Selayar Islands waters, Merauke maters, and the eastern part of Arafuru Sea.

BMKG also reported that the Indonesian waters are quite conducive today with the maximum height of the waves reaching 2 meters in the Indian Ocean west of Sumatra to the south of Java.
