TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), or the Beautiful Indonesia Miniature Park, will temporarily close public access on September 5 to 6, 2023. TMII's Public Relations Novera Mayang Sari said the tourist attraction site will hold a meeting between the first lady of ASEAN members.
"[TMII] has the duty to ensure the area will be clean and tidy," said Novera.
The security during the meeting will be handled by the presidential security force. "The officers in TMII will not be involved in the security at all," she said.
Today, September 4, the organizers will hold a run-through of the meeting. Meanwhile, on September 5, the organizers and the presidential security force will hold a rehearsal to ensure the success of the meeting between the first lady of ASEAN members.
"The meeting itself will be held on Wednesday at around 09:00 a.m. at the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika Stage followed by lunch at the Sasono Utomo Building," Novera added.
Indonesia as the 2023 ASEAN Chair
During its chairmanship of ASEAN in the January to December 2023 period, Indonesia hosted the 42nd ASEAN Chair in Labuan Bajo, NTT, last May.
Meanwhile, the 43rd ASEAN Summit will hold the theme of "ASEAN Matters Epicentrum of Growth". Indonesia's Vision for ASEAN this year refers to the ASEAN's ability for a resilient, adaptive, and inclusive development, and having a central role for the community as a whole.
Previously, the chief of the East Jakarta Public Order Security Agency Budhy Novian mentioned that his agency will deploy 127 personnel to safeguard the series of events on September 5 to 7, 2023.
"The safety will be focused in the TMII area since there will be a visit from the first lady of ASEAN members," he said.
The agency will help secure the outside of TMII while on the inside, security will be provided by the presidential security forces with the support of military and police members.
