TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chairman of the Eradication Corruption Commission (KPK) Abraham Samad will immediately arrest two suspects in the Hambalang case, AnasUrbaningrum and AndiAlifianMallarangeng after Ied Day.
"God willing, we'll arrest them. Maybe after Lebaran (Eid Day)," said Chairman of the KPK, Abraham Samad to the media at KPK Building, yesterday, July 19.
Abaraham Samad said KPK has yet to arrest them since it still needs to complete related data, which does not only concern the amount of financial losses of the state calculated by the BPK. "The data is not complete yet. We still have some data that we need to match with other data. If the police detain them for too long and the data is not complete, they can be released," Samad said.
KPK has named four suspects in the Hambalang graft case. They are Andi Alifian Mallarangeng, Deddy Kusdinar, Anas Urbaningrum, and Teuku Bagus.
Andi was named as suspect in December last year, when he was a Minister of Youth and Sport and the user of Hambalang project budget. Head of Home Affairs and Finance Bureau of the Ministry of Youth and Sport, Deddy Kusdinar was also named as suspect, in relation to his position of as the Head of Planning Bureau of the Ministry. Deddy allegedly misused his authority as the commitment maker official (PPK).
Afterwards, KPK named Anas Urbaningrum as suspect of gratuity or pledge case, in relation to the planning of construction of Hambalang sport center and other projects as well.
Anas was named as suspect when he was still a member of the House of Representatives for the period of 2009-2014.
In the meantime, former Operational Director and Head of Construction 1 Division of PT. Adhi Karta, Teuku Bagus Mokhamad Noor was also named as suspect after violating Article 2 Paragraph 1 and or Article 3 of the Law number 31 of 1999 on the Eradication of Corruption Acts in reference to Article 44 Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.
KPK had been investigating Hambalang case since August 2011. There were at least two events suspected to involve corruption case in the case, estimated to be worth Rp2.5 trillion.
First, in the process of the issuance of land certificate of Hambalang in West Java. Second, in the provision of Hambalang project, which has been done for years. The provision of Hambalang project was handled by the collaboration between PT. Adhi Karya and PT. Wijaya Karya.
