TEMPO.CO, Jakarta-The government has reduced Premium-type fuel price by Rp500 per liter from Rp6,950 to Rp6,450 per liter. Diesel fuel price is also slashed by Rp500 per liter, from Rp5,650 to Rp5,150.
PT Express Transindo Utama (TAXI) will cut its fare according to the fuel price decrease. “We will also lower [our fare] in accordance with the government’s regulation, we comply with the government’s policy,” PT Express Transindo Utama’s Director David Santoso told Tempo, Sunday, April 3, 2016.
“We also want to show that registered transport [firms] also give good service to customers,” he added.
Similar to Express, taxi firm PT Blue Bird Tbk. has also expressed its commitment to comply with the government’s regulation. However, it would take time. Because to lower the rates of a regular taxi, the taximeter on each fleet must be recalibrated.
“Fare adjustment for taxi is awaiting the process of change and recalibration by Metrology Agency, therefore, it couldn’t be done immediately,” said Blue Bird’s Director Adrianto Djokosoetono.
The government has lowered flag fall rate from Rp7,500 to Rp6,500, also the rate per kilometer from Rp4000 to Rp3,500. Waiting rate is also slashed from Rp48 thousand to Rp42 thousand.
