TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) has mobilized thousands of personnel to secure the grand campaign rallies of presidential and vice-presidential candidates running under ballot number 01, Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar, and ballot number 02, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, scheduled for Saturday, February 10, 2024. The Head of Public Relations of Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Commissioner Ade Ary Syam, stated that 2,356 personnel have been deployed for security at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS).

"For security at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Stadium, there are 2,755 personnel," said Ade Ary in an official statement on Friday, February 9, 2024.

He mentioned that the security arrangements include personnel from the Jakarta Metropolitan Police; North Jakarta Metropolitan Police, West Jakarta Metropolitan Police, South Jakarta Metropolitan Police, East Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Central Jakarta Metropolitan Police; Jakarta Military Area Command (Kodam Jaya); Jakarta Provincial Government agencies; and Jakarta City Government agencies, comprising the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), Transportation Agency, Fire Department (Damkar), and Health Department. According to the Head of Public Relations of Jakarta Metropolitan Police, campaign participants are urged to maintain national unity and solidarity to prevent divisions.

With this, he hopes that the implementation of the 2024 General Elections will proceed peacefully, safely, and with dignity. "For the GBK stadium, it will be from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM local time. A car-free day will be implemented for campaign participants," he said.

Earlier, the Chief of the Indonesian National Police Headquarters (Kabaharkam Polri) Commissioner General Fadil Imran stated that the police are prepared to secure the grand campaign rallies of presidential (presidential candidate) and vice-presidential candidates (vice-presidential candidate) number 01 and number 02 in Jakarta on Saturday, February 10. He mentioned that the police have prepared a security scheme for the grand campaign rallies.

"We have already conducted maximum and meticulous security arrangements for the campaign route, security along the route, and security at the venue, to prevent any mass overlap between the two pairs," said Fadil in an official statement on Friday, February 9, 2024.

Fadil Imran also called on the campaign teams of each ticket to maintain coordination with the police. The aim is to avoid misunderstandings. "Thus, the route arrangement is not intended to intervene but rather to ensure the smooth and orderly movement of supporters to and from their respective residences," he said.
