TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) GM Corporate Secretary Eva Chairunissa confirmed that the situation at Halim Station of Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train is now under control following the fire that broke out in the early hours of today, September 11, at 00.30 Jakarta time.
“It has been confirmed that the interior of the station building is in good condition and all functions can operate normally,” Eva said in a written statement on Monday.
Eva explained that a spark occurred on the roof of the east side of the train platform, or precisely in the roofing protection layer. KCIC then coordinated with the East Jakarta Fire Department, and the fire was successfully extinguished.
The firefighters also conducted a thorough inspection to ensure that the situation remained under control. “The cause of the incident is currently under investigation,” Eva added.
There were no casualties in the incident. Eva also said KCIC would continue to coordinate with the contractor to ensure the safety and security of the country’s first bullet train project.
