BMKG Issues Early Warning of Thunderstorms in South, East Jakarta

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has issued an early warning of thunderstorms on Monday, April 20, 2020.
As quoted from the BMKG’s official website, they warn of thunderstorms over South Jakarta and East Jakarta in the afternoon and evening.
"Beware of the potential for rain accompanied by lightning, thunder and strong winds in short durations over South Jakarta and East Jakarta areas in the afternoon and evening," BMKG wrote today.
Moreover, BMKG predicts that there will be clear skies until noon over West Jakarta, Central Jakarta and the Thousand Islands. On the other hand, the North Jakarta area will experience cloudy weather during the daytime, while South Jakarta will have moderate rain and East Jakarta will have mild rain.
At night, Jakarta’s weather condition is expected to be partly cloudy. Light rain is expected to shower West Jakarta, North Jakarta and the Thousand Islands on early Tuesday morning. On the other hand, thunderstorms over South Jakarta and East Jakarta are expected to cease to be partly cloudy by Tuesday morning.
Furthermore, the BMKG also issued early weather warnings for Bogor, Depok and Bekasi. "Be aware of the potential for rain that can be accompanied by lightning/ thunder in Bogor, Depok, Bekasi during the day/ afternoon."
