Metro Jaya Police on Sunday had completed hosting a legal motorcycle drag race event touted as the "Ancol street race."
The street race event is scheduled to be held on Sunday in Ancol but the meteorology agency predicts that tidal flooding would hit the area.
The Metro Jaya Police street race event is scheduled on January 16 and will be held at a makeshift drag strip in North Jakarta.
The police explain that the concept of the drag race in Ancol is a joint practice with street racing communities.
Jakarta Metro Police will hold a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) regarding their plan to create an official race event for street racers.
