TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The President Joko Widodo or Jokowi said that in a day, he could change clothes more than five times.
“Usually, in a day I can change clothes to four, five, six times because of the changing events,” Jokowi said when inaugurating the opening of the National Convention of Public Relations 4.0 at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday, December 10.
Interestingly, Jokowi actually experienced “wrong costume” when opening the event today. He was supposed to wear batik, but he wore a blue suit instead.
Jokowi explained that he did not wear batik because after inaugurating, he would appoint the acting governor of Riau and Bengkulu. “Sorry, I didn’t wear the ‘wrong costume’. Because I have to appoint the governor after this,” he said.
He felt troubled if he wears batik because he has to change clothes again. “But it already is, I do not want to change. Once again, I apologize, Do not think that I wear the ‘wrong costume’,” said Jokowi.
In the event, Jokowi advised the public relations officials to be able to disseminate positive messages and achievements to the public in order to build the trust and reputation of their institutions. But in building the reputation, Jokowi asked them not to spread hoaxes.
“For the company public relations officials, please build the trust and reputation of the company without spreading other companies’ shortcomings. Moreover, spreading hoaxes, slander and hate speech. For the public relations officials, it is the same,” Jokowi said.
