Vice presidential spokesman Husain Abdullah said the G20 would kick off with plenary meetings. “There will be cultural events and dinners with several G20 leaders,” said Husain in a written statement Tempo received today.
Husain said in between the events Kalla was slated to attend meetings with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Saudi Arabian Prince Mohammad Bin Salman.

The bilateral meetings were reportedly initiated by the leaders of the two countries. Husain, however, has yet to reveal the main topics in the meetings. “Surely, the discussions cannot be revealed before they were done because the request came from them,” he said.
Jusuf Kalla predicted the bilateral meetings would likely center on measures to make both nations stronger and bilateral issues affecting both parties. Jusuf Kalla also said Indonesia would potentially become the mediator between the United States and China, which are presently involved in a trade war.
