TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The campaign team for presidential and vice presidential hopefuls Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno announced that it has received up to Rp41.9 billion of funds for the 2019 presidential election campaign.
That number is 32 percent higher than the accumulated income up to October 2018 that reached Rp31.7 billion.
“From the data’s breakdown, [the largest campaign funds] came from Sandiaga Uno,” said Thomas Djiwandono, the Prabowo-Sandiaga campaign treasurer.
According to Thomas, Sandiaga Uno had donated Rp28.6 billion or 68 percent of the total campaign funds, with Prabowo Subianto providing the second largest fund up to Rp12 billion, which is a combination of money and services.
The third largest contribution came from Gerindra Party with a total of Rp1.38 billion. “The Gerindra Party contribution came in the form of ‘Paradoks Indonesia’ books,” he explained. Other forms of contribution exclusively used for campaign efforts were also revealed by Thomas.
This campaign funds report, according to Sandiaga Uno, is his and Prabowo Subianto’s commitment to upholding transparency in their campaign effort. Thomas said that the team will consistently update the public on the campaign’s financial details.
