TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo has outlined two keys to generate human resources as the strongest power of Indonesia toward acceleration of economic growth and welfare. The second key is improving skills of job seekers and workers through vocational education and certification. “I demand this [program] to be profoundly started.”
Jokowi mentioned the Public Works and Housing (PUPR) Ministry has held training on vocational education and issued professional certifications for construction workers yet on the lack of number.
The program, Jokowi expected, would involve the business and education sector, including boarding schools. “Thus, we hope students will not only obtain religious study but certain skills.”
