Democrat Says Prabowo-Sandiaga Not Using SBY-AHY Capacity

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Democrat Party deputy secretary-general Putu Supadma Rudana deemed Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno did not make use of the capacity in the coalition party to win the 2019 presidential election. The potentials in question were the chairman of Democrat party Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) and the party’s Joint Task Force Command (Kogasma) chair Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY).

According to Putu, the father and son as the party’s elites could help to win the candidate pair number 02. “But potentials in AHY are not used by Pak Prabowo and Sandi. If it’s used, it will help to win the contest,” said Putu in the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Thursday, November 15.

Putu recalled Democrat histories that won the election in 2004 and 2009 which carried out SBY and led the country for two periods. In addition, Putu who is Kogasma spokesman said AHY also represents Indonesian millennial generation.

Democrat Party, he claimed, had never beaten in the general election, and that willing to win next year’s election after it went neutral in last year’s election in 2014. “We support [a candidate], and that means we want to win. If the victory is far to reach, we will speak it out,” Putu added.

Putu further demanded Prabowo and Sandiaga to later hold the campaign team consolidation to talk on future programs and plans. “If we do not sit together, communicate to each other, it will spark problems.
