“Let’s see that politics with fearsome propagandas is frightening and worrying. After making [the people] frightened, next is creating uncertainty. I often say that this is called genderuwo politics,” Jokowi said as quoted by bisnis.com on Friday, November 9.
Genderuwa, or pronounced genderuwo in Javanese, is a Javanese myth about a gigantic, scary, humanlike ape.
According to Karding, Jokowi made this statement to remind all parties that politics should be carried out in a calm, comfortable, happy and fun fashion. “It is not reactive, but responsive,” he said.
