TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Boeing Co. plans to send safety warnings to the operators of its new Boeing 737 Max 8. This comes as the company`s response over the Lion Air flight JT-610crash that killed 189 people in Indonesia, based on preliminary investigation results of the fatal accident.

A bulletin from Boeing will alert airlines that an error in readings from flight monitoring system may cause the plane to dive suddenly.

"Boeing will warn pilots to follow existing procedures on how to handle the problem," an unnamed source told Bloomberg as quoted by Bisnis.com, November 7.

Pilots are, under certain circumstances, must fly manually. The Boeing Max jets will automatically push down their noses when detecting possible aerodynamic stall.

The Boeing 737 Max 8 fell into the West Java Sea in the Kerawang area just 13 minutes after the plane took off. The plane could have dived with a speed of up to 600 miles an hour before hitting the water.

The Indonesian National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) chairman Soerjanto Tjahjono said that the Lion Air JT610 that crashed had problems with unreliable airspeed during its last four flights, including the one that ended with the crash, killing everyone on board.
