TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National Transportation Safety Commission (KNKT) head Soerjanto Tjahjono said the Flight Data Recorder (FDR) of Lion Air JT 610's black box showed damages on the plane's airspeed indicator.
“The black box reveals that four flights underwent problems,” said Soerjanto in the KNKT office on Monday, November 5.
KNKT’s flight accident committee head Nurcahyo Utomo explained the data showed malfunctions of the Boeing 737-8 Max's airspeed indicator. “The damage occurs from flight to Manado, Manado to Denpasar, Denpasar to Jakarta, and Jakarta to Pangkal Pinang,” he said.

Nurcahyo said the commission was currently examining the recovery efforts made by the airline's technicians. The technicians would be questioned regarding their attempts in solving the technical problems.
The book reference used to deal with damages on the plane and parts of components repaired or replaced would be examined by KNKT, Nurcahyo added. “This will be our priority,” he underlined.
On Thursday, November 1, KNKT received one part of Lion Air JT 610's black boxes from the National SAR Agency (Basarnas) at 19:10 local time. The orange device was found at 10:05 a.m. by a joint team of the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT), the Indonesian Navy, and Basarnas.
