TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The House of Representatives (DPR) has approved the draft bill of 2019 state budget during the plenary meeting attended by government officials in DPR building, Jakarta, on Wednesday, Oct. 31.
Participants in the meeting, which was led by DPR deputy speaker Agus Hermanto, agreed the draft bill of the state budget (RUU APBN) be validated as 2019 State Budget Law.
Earlier, the House’s Budgetary Board (Banggar) along with the government allowed the proceedings of the draft bill of the state budget to further be validated in the meeting today.
The 2019 RUU APBN was drafted based on the assumption of economic growth at 5.3 percent, inflation rate at 3.5 percent, rupiah exchange rate at Rp15,000 against US dollar, and the SPN three-month interest rate of 5.3 percent.
The assumption for the exchange rate was significantly changed from the initial draft at Rp14,400 per US dollar due to the increasing global instability in 2019.
Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati expressed her gratitude to the House for ratifying the 2019 RUU APBN. According to her, the 2019 State Budget was drafted based on the transparency, accountability, and responsibility to run the constitutional mandate and on the law that regulates the APBN drafting, including MD3 Law and State Finance Law.
