Indonesian Products Participate in Alibaba Shopping Festival

TEMPO.CO, Beijing - A number of Indonesian products to participate in the shopping festival held by Alibaba Group in China on November 11. In addition, Indonesian tourism information will also be attached to the products.

Alibaba launched the Indonesia Pavilion that contains the promotion of Indonesian products by the President Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo and Indonesian tourism information, according to a statement issued by the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing, Monday, October 22.

These products can be accessed through the Tmall and Tabao e-commerce applications. The products are sold online along with 180,000 products from China and other countries at discounted prices.

The evolution of the shopping festival also showcases the development of the Alibaba ecosystem over time expanding well beyond e-commerce said CEO Alibaba Daniel Zhang at the launch of the 11-11 Shopping Festival in Beijing, Friday, October 19.

The Tmall shopping platform managed by Alibaba offers 500,000 items that can be ordered from Saturday, October 20, and the consumers can access the promotional coupons through Tmall and Taobao applications on smartphones.

The e-commerce apps also provide 3,700 imported goods from 75 countries, including Indonesia. The Tmall World, AliExpress, and Lazada will be accessed by hundreds of millions of users worldwide.

Lazada as the shopping platform based in Singapore also held the festival in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam. The 24-hour shopping festival held by Alibaba in 2009 managed to record sales worth US$7.8 million.
