TEMPO.CO, Bandung - The paving of ground crack in Kampung Kadu Sirung, Pagedangan, Tangerang Regency, with asphalt or cement was considered not enough.
The landslide expert from the Geotechnology Research Center of the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) Bandung Adrin Tohari said that paving can prevent rainwater from entering the ground crack and reduce the potential for further ground crack.

The ground crack can also be covered with tarpaulin so that rainwater will not fill it. “But there is a possibility that the seepage water can enter the crack,” he said.
It is necessary to conduct a detailed investigation study by drilling the soil. “So it can be evaluated, what volume of ground that will move, which area that will be affected,” he said.
The ground crack in Kampung Kadu Sirung, Kadu Sirung Village, Pagedangan, Tangerang Regency has damaged the roads and houses. The 50-meter crack has a various width and depth, from 0.5 to 1 meter.
