TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo was scheduled to open the National Work Meeting on Appropriate Technology (TTG) and the 2018 Innovation Week of Village and Sub-District Development (Pindeskel) in Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK), Bali Province, on Friday, Oct 19.
“The national meeting is held to deliver appreciation and awards for the champion of villages and sub-districts competition which expected to relay the innovation to other rural regions throughout the archipelago,” said Ketut Lihadnyana, the head of Bali Village and Community Development Agency, in Denpasar, Tuesday, Oct 16.
Some 15,000 participants from across Indonesian regions would attend the meeting established by the Home Affairs Ministry and the Villages, Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration Ministry starting on October 19 until 21, 2018.
Lihadnyana explained the national work meeting and the innovation week session were expected to boost the competitive spirit between villages and sub-district of each region, improve the public knowledge and insight related to the development of governmental administration, and encourage the birth of innovation as to increase the service quality for the society.
The event agenda would start with a parade by the participants and exhibition of village innovation on appropriate technology which would open in Festival Park, GWK, Bali Province.
