Jokowi Meets Vietnamese PM, Appreciates Automobile Export

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko `Jokowi` Widodo along with Cabinet ministers met Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc in Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC), Friday, October 12. The session was followed by the bilateral meeting between delegations of Indonesian and Vietnamese government.
President Jokowi had previously met PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc in Hanoi, Vietnam, about a month ago. “This shows the high intensity of bilateral meeting which based on the strategic partnership between Indonesia and Vietnam,” said President Jokowi during a press conference with PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc post the meeting, as quoted from Cabinet Secretary.

During the press conference, Jokowi highlighted five points. He expressed gratitude to Vietnamese PM for providing care to Indonesian investors in Vietnam and appreciated the cooperation on overcoming the country’s automotive export to Vietnam.
President Jokowi then delivered wills of Indonesian entrepreneurs to explore new potentials in Vietnam, such as pharmaceutical products and health tools.
Jokowi further mentioned that two days after the meeting in Hanoi, the team of the exclusive economic zone (EEZ) established meetings as to produce a win-win solution. “We agree to encourage the team to intensify and complete the negotiation,” the President underlined.
Lastly, President Jokowi urged the implementation of IUU Fishing that was inked in Hanoi.
